The Freedom Tower was built in the Mediterranean Revival style in 1925 and was the headquarters for the Miami News and Metropolis before becoming a political asylum for many thousands of Cubans. Renovated in 2002, it became the present-day Cuban American Museum. The dramatic tower is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
