Out in the Everglades there is no dry land, except for the tree covered islands called hammocks where mammals such as raccoons, whitetail deer, and wild boar live. Your tour will take you by a replica of a common fishing camp used by Indians, a palm and cypress wood structure called a chickee. At Gator Park’s Wildlife Show, learn how the Indians wrestled alligators. Hours: Daily, 9:00 am–6:30 pm Directions: From Miami & the Beaches: 836 W (Dolphin Expressway) past Miami International Airport. 836 merges with Florida Turnpike (821 S).
